The current situation

In Sri Lanka the law regarding legal capacity is equal for everybody.

We are not aware of any court cases on this subject to date.

People with Down syndrome have the right to vote but they are not allowed to be supported to vote.

What needs to change?

We plan to survey our members to explore this subject further.

There is an election on the 9 March so this is a good opportunity to better understand the rights of people with Down syndrome in Sri Lanka.
