Employment advocacy in Bangladesh People with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities have the right to be included in the workplace. The challenge In Bangladesh persons with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities are among the most excluded from work and employment. Advocacy aimed at key decision makers is needed to ensure their policies and programmes are inclusive of persons with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities. What we are doing We are supporting the Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh to work with its self-advocacy group of persons with Down syndrome to advocate for employment opportunities. We are also supporting them to engage in urgent COVID-19 advocacy to ensure the response to the pandemic is inclusive of persons with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities This work is funded by Inclusive Futures, a UK Aid-funded consortium of 16 disability and development organizations led by Sightsavers working to create a future that is inclusive of people with disabilities.
