Speaker biography

My name is Jaime Cruz Juscamaita and I am 25 years old. I was born on February 28, 1995. I live with my parents and sister. I am a self-manager of the Peruvian Down Syndrome Society and I coordinate the Latin American network of the global self-advocacy program Empower Us of Inclusion International defending the rights of people with disabilities.

I have had the opportunity to study in 2 inclusive schools. I did a basic computer course, studied speech and speech. I have also been doing theatre since 2012, taking workshops and different courses. I am currently an actor in the play Hamlet. I love sports, surfing and running.

As a self-manager and activist I bear witness to life in schools, institutions and companies. I have also been able to travel to England, Bolivia, Colombia, the United States, and Mexico from my experiences. I love my life and I want to continue learning so that I can teach and communicate to everyone.
