Following on from our facilitator training session with the Down Syndrome Society of Bangladesh in July, we are delighted to announce that the facilitators have run the first self-advocate group meeting. The meeting was attended by 10 self-advocates with this session aimed at developing working relationships with each other and enhancing the team spirit of the participants.

The meeting began with an ice breaking activity before the facilitators and self-advocates went on to introduce themselves.

Together they set group rules and discussed how to work together effectively as a team.

They went on to cover the subject of choice and decision making using role play and also what it means to be a self-advocate.

The self-advocates' enthusiastic and lively participation demonstrated enthusiasm for learning and the meeting was considered a success.

Huge congratulations to all of the facilitators and self-advocates. We look forward to seeing the continued success of this group.
