A key objective of DSi is the formation of a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). Their role is:
- to advise DSi on scientific and clinical issues related to Down syndrome;
- to foster good communications with other groups and organisations interested in Down syndrome research and offer support where appropriate;
- to monitor Down syndrome research news and updates in the media;
- to explore the issue of a publication on research about Down syndrome;
- to advocate funding for Down syndrome research projects where appropriate.
