Down Syndrome International is delighted to announce that a resolution to designate 21 March as “World Down Syndrome Day” was adopted by the United Nations on Thursday 10 November 2011.

Recommendation 4: Self Presentation

  • People with Down syndrome need to be included on various committees within LDSA.
  • Set up Self Advocacy groups and link them directly with the main committee.



These measures will ultimately allow people with Down syndrome to communicate issues relating to them directly in order to influence policy and decision makers.
