CRPD in Practice

The UN CRPD has been ratified by 96 countries and a list of these can be viewed at the UN website.

Organisations in many countries have put the UN legislation and other human rights legislation into practice and others have organised campaigns and events to help promote and raise awareness of its adoption.

The following provide some examples:

UK - Down’s Syndrome Association and Human Rights Legislation.

Brazil - MetaSocial Institute “It’s Normal to be Different” Campaign.

USA - Harvard Law School Project on Disability.

Spain - Down España "La Convención Internacional de Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad vista por sus Protagonistas" link to English version.
