Affiliate membership is open to all individuals and organisations worldwide. Current members include people with Down syndrome, parents, family members and friends, carers, professionals, pracitioners, researchers, organisations and people who are just interested in Down syndrome. All are dedicated to improving the quality of life and human rights of people with Down syndrome.
Affiliate members are able to have a say and influence how the organisation is run. All members receive the following benefits:
- A Voice - in a global community with the ability to discuss, collaborate with and seek advice from like-minded people on all issues affecting Down syndrome;
- Questions Answered – by the World’s foremost professional advisors on Down syndrome;
- An Opportunity – to be an integral part of our drive to improve the lives of people with Down syndrome through co-operation with other local, regional and global organisations and the development of outreach programmes in countries who most need our support;
- Invitations and Discounted Rates - for various international, regional and local conferences which we co-sponsor including IASSID conferences;
- Publications - Discounted rates for useful publications produced in co-operation with other organisations including Down Syndrome Quarterly (DSQ);
- World Down Syndrome Day - An international forum for promotion of World Down Syndrome Day events and celebrations in your country on 21st March each year and a chance to nominate members and organisations for our World Down Syndrome Day Awards, announced each year.
