10th World Down Syndrome Congress Welcome Message

As President of Down Syndrome International I wish to extend a warm welcome to you to attend the 10th World Down Syndrome Congress in Dublin, Ireland from August 19th to 22nd, 2009. We usually welcome over 1500 people from all over the world to our World Congresses and we anticipate that this Congress will be no exception.

The theme for the Congress is "Lifelong Living and Learning". Down Syndrome Ireland is planning a dynamic and exciting programme covering all aspects of health and welfare, education, and research. The program will cater for all parents and professionals and include a parallel participative programme for siblings, children and adults with Down syndrome.

The Scientific Committee and the local organising committee of the WDSC2009 have gone to great lengths to ensure that an exciting progam is in store. We trust that you will book early as interest has already been at a high level and Ireland is a wonderful place to visit, and the congress provides a great opportunity to meet new and old friends and update yourself on the latest initiatives in the world of Down syndrome.

We hope to see you there.
Penny Robertson, OAM
President
