OUR PEOPLE

What we spend your money on

As a charity, we rely almost entirely on voluntary donations. Our income for 2009 was £20,000 and this allowed us to revamp our website and carry out an essential outreach project in a developing country. Please help us become stronger and to implement the objectives of our 5 year plan.

Donation How we might spend your money
£1 The cost of copying and issuing booklets or factsheets providing callers with vital information to allay needless fears.
£2.50 The cost of international postage to send important information to people in countries where email communication may not be possible.
£10 The cost of designing and producing 50 DSi letterheads and compliments slips for postal communication with people in countries where email communication may not be possible.
£350 The cost of maintaining the ‘World Down Syndrome Day’ website for 1 year.
£900 The cost of the initial website design services provided for our new DSi Website.
£5,000 The cost of drafting and printing a new information leaflet on a crucial aspect of living with Down syndrome.
£20,000 The cost to carry out 2 visits for an outreach programme in a developing country. This would include an initial needs analysis, followed by a series of seminars specifically designed to match the needs of the group.
£70,000 The cost to pay for a 3 year PhD research project related to Down syndrome.
