Ambassadors

DSi is delighted to announce that the following people have all agreed to be DSi Ambassadors:

Karen Gaffney
Sujeet Desai
Simon Beresford
Shéri Brynard

They are all exceptional advocates for people with Down syndrome in their own countries and internationally and their achievements and tireless efforts to raise awareness are an inspiration to us all.

More DSi Ambassadors required

DSi is seeking more energetic and committed individuals to fulfill the role of Ambassador for our organisation. These individuals will be prepared to offer their time and skills to DSi in a volunteer capacity, in some cases with a focus on specific important issues concerning Down syndrome, in others as a representative of people with Down syndrome in the global community.

Ambassadors may be people with Down syndrome or others who are strongly committed to improving quality of life for people with Down syndrome worldwide. Potential candidates may currently work in a particular area associated with Down syndrome or other disability groups or organisations.

Ambassadors will need to:

  • have a good existing knowledge of Down syndrome
  • be committed to DSi's mission and vision
  • be pro-active with their involvement and prepared to discuss their proposals with the DSi Board
  • have excellent interpersonal skills
  • be prepared to travel to represent DSi at important events.

Our aim is to appoint Ambassadors in all of the World’s regions, each with a particular brief. Appointments will initially be for the 3 year period between each World Down Syndrome Congress and are renewable.

If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador for DSi please contact our International Office.
